Republicans Maintain 30-Point Registration Advantage in Lakewood as Early Voting Falls Sharply From 2025
Republicans maintain a substantial advantage in voter registration in Lakewood heading into Election Day, with nearly 48% of the township’s registered voters enrolled as Republicans, according to the latest registration figures obtained by TLS.

Lakewood has a total of 66,903 registered voters, including 31,988 Republicans, or 47.8% of the electorate. Democrats account for 11,439 voters, or 17.1%, while 23,129 voters, or 34.6%, are unaffiliated. Another 347 voters, or 0.5%, are registered with other parties.

Early, in-person voting concluded Sunday evening, and polls will open on Tuesday from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. for Election Day voting.
With the early voting period now complete, Lakewood has seen dismal turnout so far, especially when compared to last year’s highly competitive gubernatorial election.
There has been no comparable push to encourage voters to cast ballots early this year, reflecting the less competitive nature of the election and the absence of the same level of organized voter mobilization seen last year.
In 2025, Lakewood recorded approximately 60% overall voter turnout, with more than 38,000 ballots cast, a particularly high figure for a nonpresidential election.
TLS will have all your election results after the polls close at 8pm on Tuesday.
It obviously fell because there is no gubernatorial election this year.
