The Lakewood Planning Board has approved a lot-line change on Industrial Commission land near the Lakewood Airport, and the larger lot is meant for “eventual medical village use.”
At its recent meeting, the board heard an application from the Township of Lakewood Industrial Commission for a minor subdivision to adjust lot lines at Airport Road and 1900 Cedar Bridge Avenue.
According to the minutes available, no one from the public came forward. Chairman Neiman moved to approve, Mr. Helmreich seconded, and all members were in favor.
TLS first reported about The Medical Village, an approximately 60-acre outpatient healthcare campus, and officials told TLS it would be built in the Airport Road area.
CHEMED said the campus would bring more than 50 specialties to one location, including primary care, dental care, mental health services, pediatric specialties, women’s health, a standalone emergency department, an ambulatory surgery center and a diagnostic radiology center. The Village is planned as an outpatient, non-hospital facility, and CHEMED said it is speaking with potential hospital partners.
At the time of the May announcement, the project was in due diligence and working with regulatory agencies on licensing and other requirements.
