Spacex Partners with Qualcomm to Build Nationwide 5G Network

SpaceX announced Wednesday a major partnership with Qualcomm to develop Starlink Mobile’s nationwide ground-based 5G network, with deployment beginning in 2027. Qualcomm will supply advanced radio equipment, chips, and software for tens of thousands of cell sites across the United States. The network will combine satellite and traditional cellular connectivity, potentially challenging Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile. Qualcomm described the agreement as its largest 5G deal to date.
