Herzog to Begin Coalition Talks Wednesday

President Isaac Herzog will begin consultations on November 4 to determine who will form Israel’s next government, amid growing discussion of a possible unity coalition. Wednesday’s meetings will include Bezalel Smotrich, Moshe Feiglin, Shas and Avigdor Lieberman. Thursday’s talks will include United Torah Judaism, Itamar Ben Gvir, Yair Golan, Ra’am, the Joint List, Naftali Bennett, Gadi Eisenkot and Likud. Herzog will meet smaller parties first in an effort to explore alternative coalition arrangements and avoid another election.
