After 28 years and 31,000 miles across four continents and 30 countries, Karl Bushby returned home to northern England Monday, where he was greeted by his tearful mother

Bushby, 56, began his journey in Chile in 1998, vowing to travel entirely on foot without using planes, boats or other transportation.
