New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani debuted a dramatically different look over the weekend after shaving off his signature beard and replacing it with a mustache

Mamdani was photographed with his beard Friday at a children's Halloween event in Queens, but by Sunday afternoon, he appeared at the New York City Marathon sporting the new look. According to The Cut, some runners reportedly failed to recognize the mayor, whose mustache-forward appearance was compared to Super Mario. The reason for the sudden change remains unclear.
