Ron Dermer Rips Tucker Carlson, Accuses Him of Profiting From Antisemitic Rhetoric

Former Israeli minister Ron Dermer launched a blistering attack on conservative commentator Tucker Carlson on Tuesday, accusing him of benefiting financially from foreign interests that promote antisemitism and questioning whether his political activities are consistent with the America First principles he frequently champions.

Dermer, a longtime confidant of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and a prominent figure in Israeli-American relations, took aim at Carlson in a sharply worded social media statement, suggesting that the commentator’s public image as a defender of American interests is at odds with his alleged financial connections.

“Tucker Carlson claims he’s America First while making millions from foreign actors amplifying his antisemitism,” Dermer wrote.

The former minister also directed his criticism at Carlson’s audience, arguing that supporters who accept his political messaging are being manipulated.

“His followers are being played for fools. They’re Tucker’s Suckers,” he added.

Dermer’s remarks come amid growing criticism of Carlson’s treatment of Israel and Jewish issues. The former Fox News host, who now operates an independent media platform, has repeatedly challenged American support for Israel and featured guests whose statements about Jews and Israel have provoked accusations of antisemitism.

The Anti-Defamation League has criticized Carlson for giving prominent exposure to figures including Nick Fuentes, Candace Owens, and Darryl Cooper, accusing him of helping bring antisemitic conspiracy theories into mainstream political discussion. Carlson has maintained that his interviews and criticism of Israel are consistent with his commitment to questioning American foreign policy.

Dermer’s allegation concerning foreign financial support was particularly pointed, although he did not identify the foreign parties involved or provide documentation establishing the financial arrangements he alleged.

The remarks also drew attention from conservative commentator Mark Levin, a frequent critic of Carlson, who circulated Dermer’s statement and praised the former Israeli official. The Republican Jewish Coalition likewise shared Dermer’s comments, signaling support for his criticism.

Dermer served as Israel’s ambassador to the United States from 2013 to 2021 and subsequently held senior ministerial positions under Netanyahu, including responsibility for strategic affairs and negotiations surrounding the release of Israeli hostages.

Since leaving government, Dermer has been speaking publicly about rising antisemitism and the challenges facing Jewish communities. His latest criticism of Carlson reflects an increasingly contentious debate within American conservative circles over Israel, antisemitism, foreign influence, and the meaning of the America First movement.
