Simcha Eichenstein Wins Reelection Unopposed in 48th Assembly District

Assemblyman Simcha Eichenstein has secured another term in the New York State Assembly, winning reelection without opposition in Brooklyn’s 48th Assembly District, which includes Boro Park and surrounding neighborhoods.

Eichenstein, a Democrat who also appeared on the Conservative Party line, faced no challenger in Tuesday’s general election, ensuring that he will continue representing one of the largest frum communities in New York State when the new legislative session begins in January.

First elected in 2018, Eichenstein has established himself as a prominent voice for Orthodox Jewish residents in Albany, frequently addressing issues involving religious freedom, yeshiva education, public safety, antisemitism, and the everyday concerns of families and community institutions.

His uncontested reelection reflects the strong political position he has maintained in a district where communal representation and constituent services are especially important.

Throughout his tenure, Eichenstein has worked with lawmakers from both parties on legislation affecting Orthodox Jewish communities, often focusing on practical concerns that have a direct impact on residents.

Eichenstein has also been involved in efforts to strengthen protections for houses of worship, schools, and other community institutions amid heightened concerns about antisemitism and public safety.

Beyond legislation, his office has served as a resource for constituents seeking assistance with state agencies, government programs, and other matters affecting families and businesses throughout the district.

His reelection comes at a time when New York’s frum communities continue to face major challenges involving educational independence, housing costs, government regulations, and security.

The assemblyman’s return to Albany ensures continued representation for Boro Park in the Democratic-controlled State Assembly, where debates over education, public safety, and state spending remain central to the legislative agenda.

With another two-year term secured, Eichenstein will continue serving the district he has represented since January 2019.
