Brazilian Crypto Exchange Mercado Bitcoin Confirms Cyberattack, Suspends Deposits and Withdrawals
Mercado Bitcoin said Monday it had suffered a cyberattack and paused deposits and withdrawals as a precaution. Blockchain security firm Hypernative reportedly flagged more than $40 million in suspicious transfers across at least 10 networks, including Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana, according to crypto outlets. The exchange says it contained the incident quickly, that customer funds were unaffected and that no customer data was leaked. The estimated losses have not been confirmed.
