Mamdani Threatens to Sue Trump Administration over ICE Operations in NYC

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani warned Monday that the city will sue the Trump administration if ICE agents continue using city-owned parking lots to stage immigration enforcement operations. Mamdani sent a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin demanding that agents stop using lots near Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx and Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens, calling the activity unauthorized and illegal. “If they keep coming back, we will see them in court,” Mamdani said. The Department of Homeland Security maintains that ICE’s use of public parking lots is authorized under federal law.
