Flash Flood Emergency Hits Palm Bay And West Melbourne After Extreme Overnight Rain
Parts of Brevard County are dealing with major flooding this morning after 12 to 20 inches of rain fell since midnight.
The heaviest totals hit from Palm Bay to West Melbourne, and more rain is still coming down.
Many roads are already impassable. Vehicles are stranded in deep water across neighborhoods, including cars and a roadside truck partially submerged.
Brevard County Public Schools are closed for the day because of the conditions.
Officials are urging everyone to stay off the roads if possible and never drive through flooded areas.
