Assemblyman Patrick Carroll Wins Reelection in Rockland County's 96th Assembly District
Democratic Assemblyman Patrick Carroll has won reelection to the New York State Assembly, defeating Republican challenger Brett Yagel in the race for the 96th Assembly District.
Carroll, who was first elected to the State Assembly in November 2024, secured another two-year term representing portions of Rockland County in Albany. His victory follows a competitive campaign focused on affordability, education, infrastructure, public safety, and issues affecting local families.
The 96th Assembly District includes communities in Rockland County, with the election drawing attention from residents and local officials as voters selected their representative for the next legislative session.
Throughout his first term in office, Carroll worked on issues involving state funding, education, housing, and local government priorities. His campaign highlighted his legislative experience and efforts to address the needs of residents throughout the district.
Yagel, the Republican challenger, campaigned on bringing a different approach to Albany, with an emphasis on affordability, government accountability, and local concerns.
Carroll’s reelection allows Democrats to retain the 96th Assembly District seat and gives him another term serving Rockland County residents in the New York State Legislature.
His new two-year term will begin in January 2027.
