POLLS CLOSED: Full 2026 Election Results For Ocean County, Including Lakewood, Jackson And Manchester
The polls have now closed in New Jersey, where the non-competitive Senate race in New Jersey has topped the ballot, but several congressional seats are very much in play.
In that Senate race, Democrat incumbent Cory Booker has won his race for a third full term in the U.S. Senate, beating Republican challenger Justin Murphy.
New Jersey’s Congressional delegation is currently 9-3 in favor of the Democrats, and heading into tonight, Democrats were hoping to flip at least one of those seats – the 7th district, which is currently represented by Republican incumbent Tom Kean Jr.
Democrats are also hoping to flip the 2nd Congressional District, which is held by Republican Rep. Jeff Van Drew – a former Democrat.
Results from those races are not yet in but will posted here as soon as they are official.
In the 4th Congressional District, which includes Lakewood and the surrounding towns, New Jersey Republican Rep. Chris Smith, already the state’s longest serving Congressman, has, as expected, coasted to an easy victory and will serve a 24th consecutive term in the U.S. House of Representatives.
On the County level, Commissioner Republican Frank Sadeghi has won a second three-year term on the board, beating Democrat challenger Kia Phua. No Democrat has won a countywide seat in Ocean County since 1989.
Locally, there were few contested races, with the mayoral election in Jackson Township receiving most of the attention.
Below are results for the local municipalities:
There are several local races on the ballot in Lakewood, including two seats on the Township Committee, three seats on the Board of Education and and Fire Commissioner seats.
Voters in Jackson Township are choosing among three candidates for mayor, two of whom are looking to unseat incumbent Jennifer Kuhn, as well as six candidates seeking two seats on the town council. There are also two seats up on the Jackson Board of Education.
Manchester also features a mayoral race, where incumbent Joe Hankins is seeking his first full term, but is facing a challenge from two other candidates. The local school board is also contested, with six candidates seeking three seats.
This is a developing story and will be updated
