Ramapo Supervisor Michael Specht and Highway Superintendent Fred Brinn Secure New Terms
Town of Ramapo Supervisor Michael Specht and Highway Superintendent Fred Brinn have secured new two-year terms following the November 3 general election, continuing their leadership of two key departments in one of Rockland County’s largest and most populous towns.
Specht, a Democrat who also appeared on the Conservative Party ballot line, ran unopposed for another term as Town Supervisor. Brinn, who appeared on the Democratic Party line, also faced no listed Republican challenger in his bid to continue serving as Superintendent of Highways.
Specht has served as Town Supervisor since 2018, overseeing municipal operations, town finances, infrastructure projects, and government services throughout Ramapo, including communities such as Monsey, Spring Valley, Airmont, New Square, Chestnut Ridge, Wesley Hills, and surrounding areas.
Throughout his tenure, Specht has worked with local elected officials, law enforcement agencies, emergency service organizations, and community leaders on issues affecting residents, including public safety, infrastructure improvements, economic development, and the town’s growing population.
Brinn oversees the Town of Ramapo Highway Department, which is responsible for maintaining town roads, coordinating snow removal, addressing drainage issues, and carrying out roadway improvements throughout the municipality. The department plays an important role in keeping local roads safe and accessible throughout the year, particularly during winter storms and severe weather.
The reelection of both officials provides continuity in Ramapo’s municipal administration and highway operations as the town continues addressing infrastructure needs, population growth, and public services.
Both Specht and Brinn will begin their new two-year terms in January 2027.
