President Isaac Herzog received the official results of Israel’s elections Wednesday morning and began consultations to determine who will form the next government.
The final results give Netanyahu’s bloc 53 seats, Eisenkot’s bloc 48, and the Arab parties 19. Herzog is beginning consultations with the smaller parties, including Shas, Religious Zionism, and Yisrael Beiteinu. Shas and Religious Zionism will recommend Netanyahu, while Lieberman backs Eisenkot. Neither bloc currently holds the 61 seats needed to form a government.
