Two South Florida Congressional Races Still Too Close To Call

Two key House races in South Florida remain undecided as of Wednesday afternoon.

In District 27, Republican María Elvira Salazar leads Democrat Eliott Rodriguez by roughly 1,100 votes. That margin sits at 0.46%, inside Florida’s 0.5% threshold for an automatic machine recount.

Miami-Dade Supervisor of Elections Alina Garcia confirmed the recount will happen if the current numbers hold. Some vote-by-mail ballots with signature issues are still being cured through Thursday at 5 p.m., and provisional ballots are under review.

In District 26, Republican Mario Díaz-Balart holds a narrow lead over Democrat Nicole Locklin, roughly 1,700 votes. That gap is outside the automatic recount range, but the race has not been called.

Both Republicans have declared victory. Neither race is final yet.
