Chopper6 Shows Streets Turned Into Rivers In Davie After More Heavy Rain

Northern Broward took another beating overnight, with 4 to 6 inches of additional rain falling on already saturated ground.

A flood advisory was issued for Broward as water backed up across Davie and nearby areas. Chopper6 flew over and found entire streets looking like rivers, with residents walking through calf-high water.

This comes after multiple heavy rain events earlier in the week. Some spots between Weston and Sunrise have picked up 13 to 15 inches total over the past few days.

Paradise Village and other Davie neighborhoods saw lake overflow and standing water reaching driveways.

Powerline Road at Copans was among the closures, and schools stayed open but excused late arrivals and absences.

Drier weather is expected to move in starting Thursday. Until then, avoid driving through flooded roads.
