US: Americans are heading to the polls today in crucial midterm elections that will determine whether President Donald Trump’s Republican Party retains control of Congress.
All 435 seats in the House of Representatives and 35 of the Senate’s 100 seats are being contested, alongside dozens of governorships and state elections.
Republicans currently control both chambers of Congress, but Democrats are hoping to regain control amid concerns over the economy, rising living costs and the war with Iran.
The outcome could significantly affect Trump’s ability to advance his agenda during the remaining two years of his presidency.
