Helicopter Crashes In Biscayne Bay Near Key Biscayne
A helicopter went down in the waters off Biscayne Bay near Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park and Nixon Beach on Key Biscayne Wednesday morning.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded just after 11:26 a.m. with mutual aid from City of Miami and Key Biscayne crews.
Three people were on board. Two adult trauma patients were transported by air rescue to the main trauma center. Details on the third person have not been confirmed, though video shows a yellow tarp covering what appears to be a body on land.
The helicopter is upside down in the water, with its yellow skid floats still visible on the surface.
