Pro-Israel Democrat Lois Frankel Wins Reelection in Florida, Defeats Republican Challenger

WASHINGTON (VINnews) — Rep. Lois Frankel, a longtime Democratic supporter of Israel, has won reelection to Congress, defeating Republican challenger Deborah Adeimy in Florida’s 23rd Congressional District, according to projections by The Associated Press.

Frankel won approximately 66% of the vote, compared with 34% for Adeimy, overcoming a newly redrawn congressional district ahead of Tuesday’s midterm elections.

A member of Congress since 2013, Frankel has been a vocal supporter of Israel and a strong advocate for U.S. security assistance to the Jewish state, particularly following the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas attacks.

She was the lead sponsor of legislation condemning Hamas’ sexual violence during the October 7 attacks and has consistently emphasized the importance of the U.S.-Israel relationship.

“Israel’s security is our security, and Israel’s values are our values,” her campaign website states.

Following her victory, Frankel celebrated in a brief social media post Wednesday, writing: “My, my, my. Let’s get back to work!”

Frankel previously represented Florida’s 22nd Congressional District but moved to the newly drawn 23rd District following a Republican-led redistricting effort. She will serve another two-year term in the House.
