Iranian Commentator: "Israel Attacked, and We Claimed It Was Lightning"
Iranian conservative political commentator Sadegh Koushki made a series of striking admissions on Iranian state television, claiming that Iran concealed Israeli military strikes and failed to establish effective deterrence.
According to Koushki, Israel attacked an Iranian drone base in Kermanshah, while state television attributed the incident to thunder and lightning.
He also claimed that Israel targeted sensitive missile facilities, Iranian vessels and senior Iranian commanders in Syria without facing a significant Iranian response.
Koushki argued that Tehran feared a broader war with Israel and that its limited responses, including following the Damascus consulate strike, failed to deter further Israeli operations.
He also criticized Iran's failure to coordinate a joint attack with Hezbollah and other allied groups in October 2024.
