ISRAEL NEARS $900 MILLION DEFENSE DEAL WITH INDIA โ Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) is reportedly close to securing a $905.7 million contract to convert six Boeing 767 passenger jets into aerial refueling aircraft for the Indian Air Force. IAI emerged as the only qualifying bidder after competing proposals from Russian and European firms failed to meet requirements. At least 30% of the work would take place in India, with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) expected to serve as the local partner. The aircraft would strengthen India's aerial refueling capabilities and reduce reliance on its aging Russian-made tanker fleet. The agreement would rank among the largest Israel-India defense deals, although final contract approval has not been publicly confirmed.
