Joe Rand Deserves Recognition for Standing Up for Rockland Families

To the Monsey Scoop: As a parent raising a family in Rockland County, I want to express my sincere appreciation for the significant increase in child care assistance funding coming to our community. For families struggling with the rising costs of raising children, this is more than just another budget announcement. It represents the possibility of real financial relief for hardworking parents.

Child care has become one of the biggest expenses facing Rockland families. Between housing, groceries, utilities, transportation, and other everyday necessities, many parents are under tremendous financial pressure. Even families doing everything they can to manage their expenses often struggle to afford quality child care.

That is why the nearly 70% increase in Rockland County’s child care assistance allocation is such welcome news. For eligible families, this additional funding can provide meaningful relief, help parents remain in the workforce, and offer some much-needed breathing room.

I especially want to recognize State Senate candidate Joe Rand for bringing attention to Rockland County’s child care funding needs and working alongside Assemblyman Aron Wieder and Governor Kathy Hochul to advocate for a fairer allocation for our community.

By highlighting funding disparities and ensuring Rockland’s needs were part of the conversation, Joe Rand demonstrated the importance of having leaders who understand the challenges facing local families and are willing to fight for solutions.

As Rockland County continues to grow, the demand for child care assistance continues to increase. Available funding has already been fully allocated, demonstrating just how many families depend on this vital support. While this nearly 70% increase represents important progress, continued advocacy will be necessary to ensure our community receives the resources it deserves.

This should be the beginning, not the end. Rockland families need stronger representation in Albany, and that is why I believe we need people like Joe Rand in the State Senate majority. We need leaders who understand our community, prioritize our needs, and know how to work with others to secure meaningful results.

I also want to thank Assemblyman Wieder for his continued advocacy and Governor Hochul for supporting additional resources for Rockland families. When elected officials work together to address the real concerns of residents, our entire community benefits.

For families like mine, this is not simply a percentage in a state budget. It is about less financial pressure, greater stability, and the ability to provide for our children.

Rockland families deserve a strong voice in Albany, and I hope Joe Rand will have the opportunity to continue this important work in the State Senate.

Aron E. A Grateful Rockland County Parent
