Democrat Eugene Bondar Defeats Longtime Clarkstown Supervisor George Hoehmann
Democrats Eugene Bondar and Robert Milone have won their respective races for Clarkstown Town Supervisor and Superintendent of Highways, defeating Republican incumbents George Hoehmann and Robert Sambevski in the November 3 general election.
According to unofficial results from the Rockland County Board of Elections, Bondar received 19,885 votes, or 54.39%, compared to Hoehmann’s 16,636 votes, or 45.51%. In the Highway Superintendent race, Milone received 20,809 votes, or 57.61%, defeating Sambevski, who received 15,267 votes, or 42.26%.
Hoehmann, who has served as Clarkstown Supervisor since January 2016, was seeking another two-year term leading one of Rockland County’s largest towns. His defeat ends more than a decade of leadership overseeing municipal operations, town finances, infrastructure improvements, and public services.
Bondar will assume responsibility for overseeing Clarkstown’s municipal government, including communities such as New City, Nanuet, Congers, West Nyack, and Valley Cottage. His victory marks a change in the town’s political leadership.
Milone will take over the Clarkstown Highway Department, which is responsible for maintaining town roads, coordinating snow removal, addressing drainage concerns, and overseeing roadway maintenance and infrastructure improvements throughout the town.
The election brings new leadership to both Clarkstown’s town government and Highway Department, with Bondar and Milone set to begin their terms in January 2027.
