New York State’s Shomer Shabbos caucus has reached a new milestone

Record 11 Shomer Shabbos Legislators Now Serving in New York State Legislature

New York State’s Shomer Shabbos caucus has reached a new milestone, with a record 11 members now represented in the State Legislature following the latest election victories.

The growing group includes both returning lawmakers and newly elected members, representing communities across New York. Among them are Boro Park Assemblyman Simcha Eichenstein and State Senator Sam Sutton, along with Kalman Yeger, Joey Cohen Saban, Sam Berger, David Weprin, Pesach Osina, Aron Wieder, Nily Rozic, Ari Brown and Malkie Vider.

The milestone marks a significant increase in Orthodox Jewish representation in Albany. In recent years, the number of frum lawmakers in the state legislature has steadily grown, with previous election cycles bringing the group to six members.

With 11 members now part of the Shomer Shabbos caucus, the community enters the new legislative term with its strongest representation yet.
