Ra’am Endorses Gadi Eisenkot for Prime Minister

Mansour Abbas, chairman of the Arab political party Ra’am, announced that his party will recommend Gadi Eisenkot to President Isaac Herzog to form Israel’s next government. Abbas said an Eisenkot-led government would be “undoubtedly far superior to the current one,” criticizing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government as widely characterized by failures. The endorsement comes as Herzog holds consultations with political parties following last week’s elections.
