City Expands Program Giving SNAP Recipients Extra Money for Fresh Produce

Mayor Mamdani announced an expansion of Get the Good Stuff, a program that matches every dollar SNAP recipients spend on fresh, frozen, canned or dried fruits, vegetables and beans, up to $10 per day, toward future purchases of those same foods.

The program, now available at 21 grocery stores across the city, will expand to 12 more stores. Local grocers can apply through November 20. The city has secured $3.1 million a year in funding for the program starting in fiscal year 2027.
