Moshe Bar Siman-Tov, the director-general of Israel's Health Ministry
Moshe Bar Siman-Tov, the director-general of Israel's Health Ministry, told Health Minister Haim Katz on Tuesday that he will step down in the coming weeks, ending roughly nine years at the helm over two terms. He led the health system through the coronavirus pandemic and the war that followed October 7.
Katz praised his "significant contribution to Israel's health system," while Bar Siman-Tov said he is leaving the system "stable, professional and prepared for any challenge." He is expected to join Columbia University as a research fellow studying how health systems cope with national trauma.
