Efforts are underway to establish a local social services office in Blooming Grove
Efforts are underway to establish a local social services office in Blooming Grove, as Askanim seek to make it easier for residents to receive assistance with personal needs, government services, and other social services matters.
In a statement released following Tuesday’s elections, Anash of Blooming Grove askanim said that residents have raised various concerns in recent weeks, including the lack of a local office where individuals can turn for assistance. The organization said it is now working with elected officials to explore ways of bringing such services to the area.
Kiryas Joel already has a successful social services office that provides residents with convenient access to assistance in a familiar, heimishe environment. Community leaders in Blooming Grove are hoping to establish a similar service that would give local families a place to turn for help with their everyday needs.
The proposed office would focus on providing accessible constituent services and guidance, allowing residents to receive assistance in a comfortable, community-based setting. Askanim emphasized that such an office is an important need for the neighborhood and that residents should be able to benefit from the same type of assistance already available in the other areas.
The initiative comes following Tuesday’s elections, in which candidates endorsed by the local askanim secured victories across the several races. The askanim expressed appreciation to residents for their participation in last night’s election and said it hopes to build on its relationships with the newly elected and reelected officials to address this need.
