Australia Deploys Heavily Armed Police for Chanukah, One Year After Bondi Massacre

Australia is deploying a new 250-member police unit equipped with assault rifles to protect major public events and places of worship ahead of Chanukah.

The move comes one year after the Bondi Beach massacre, in which gunmen murdered 15 people, including a Holocaust survivor and a 10-year-old girl.

Only a handful of police officers were reportedly on duty at Bondi Beach during last year's deadly attack.
