Tachlis Daily Election HQ ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

DDHQ Projects Democrats Flip Ohio Governor's Office and Virginia's 1st House District

Decision Desk HQ called Ohio's governor race for Democrats at 10:30 PM Eastern, flipping the office from Republican control. DDHQ also projects Democrats win Maine's governor race (10:29 PM) and New Mexico's (10:33 PM).

In the House, DDHQ called Virginia's 1st District for Democrats at 10:28 PM, flipping the seat. New Mexico's 2nd was called for Democrats at 10:23 PM. Republican calls: Wisconsin's 7th at 10:25 PM, Wisconsin's 6th at 10:30 PM, and Ohio's 8th and Wisconsin's 5th at 10:31 PM.

All times Eastern. Called-race totals: House 149 Democrats/96 Republicans; Senate 13/7; Governors 15/5. Senate and governor maps combine DDHQ and NBC News projections.

Election Night Live Updates

Follow the battle for Congress and key state races in one place, with timestamped results, race calls and analysis. All times Eastern.

Last updated: Tuesday, November 3, 2026, 3:05PM Eastern.

Tachlis Daily's master election-night page will bring together results, race calls and analysis as the midterm count unfolds. This page is still in its pre-results stage. No winners or chamber-control outcomes are being declared here yet. All times on this page are Eastern.

3:05PM: Voting continues. Polls remain open ahead of tonight's count. Early returns can change as more ballots arrive, and an initial lead is not a race call. We will distinguish reported vote counts, attributed projections and official certified results.

Watch the competitive Senate races in Maine, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, Iowa, Nebraska, Texas, Kansas, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Alaska as results become available. We will add verified counts and clearly attributed calls here rather than treating polling or forecasts as results.

For the poll-closing sequence and races to watch, see our hour-by-hour Senate guide.

All 435 House seats are on the ballot. A party needs 218 seats for a majority. We will track the districts that shape control and explain what confirmed changes mean without declaring a chamber winner before the evidence supports it.

New Jersey: Polls close at 8PM. The state's Division of Elections confirms today's voting hours are 6AM to 8PM. Congressional and other relevant local results will be added as they become available. Official New Jersey voter information.

Virginia: Polls close at 7PM. The Virginia Department of Elections says anyone in line at 7PM may still vote. We will follow congressional results as verified counts are released. Official Virginia election information.

Governors' races, including Georgia and Florida, are part of tonight's broader picture. This section will carry verified results and attributed projections as the count develops, with analysis kept separate from the numbers.

Each new entry will show its time and source. A projected winner is not a certified result. Outstanding mail ballots, close margins and ranked-choice counting can delay a final outcome. Corrections or changed calls will be identified clearly on this page.
