Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee Chairman MK Boaz Bismuth of the Likud accused the change bloc's leaders on Tuesday of running the biggest political fraud in the history of the State of Israel over the Chareidi draft law. He charged that they rode on the backs of combat soldiers for a seat in power.
Bismuth, who steered the draft legislation through his committee, said the "evasion law" has suddenly been laundered into a "soft draft law," calling it nauseating hypocrisy. He predicted the bloc will fail to form a government, and that any patchwork coalition would quickly collapse.
