Supporters of California Rep. Ro Khanna are launching a formal draft committee for a 2028 presidential run, with former New York Rep. Jamaal Bowman serving as co-chair, NBC News reports. The group, called "Run Ro," can raise money while Khanna weighs a campaign. He has already spent months visiting early primary states. Only one sitting House member, James Garfield in 1880, has ever been elected directly to the presidency.
