Different Political Choices, One United Community
The upcoming elections have highlighted differing political priorities within Monsey’s Jewish community.
Some Rabbanim, askanim, mosdos, and community groups have voiced support for candidate Joe Rand, emphasizing the importance of securing much-needed funding for local needs and institutions. Others, including Rabbanim, askanim, mosdos, and community groups, have expressed support for Senator Bill Weber, placing greater emphasis on broader policy concerns and the importance of maintaining established relationships.
Those supporting Weber express concern that electing another Democrat to New York’s already heavily Democratic State Senate could strengthen the party’s control in Albany, potentially affecting issues important to our community. They also point to Weber’s record of working with the community and their desire to stand by someone they consider a proven friend.
These differing positions reflect varying perspectives on how best to protect and advance the interests of the klal. While the approaches may differ, the underlying goal remains the same: ensuring that our community’s needs are heard and addressed.
Monsey Scoop remains impartial and committed to reporting the news fairly and accurately, allowing voters to reach their own informed conclusions.
As Election Day approaches, we hope that political differences will not overshadow the unity that has always been essential to our community. Once the election is behind us, regardless of the outcome, we hope that all parties involved will put aside their differences and continue working together for the benefit of the entire klal, with mutual respect, cooperation, and Kiddush Shem Shamayim.
yeh not happening. As a frum Jew living in Rockland i am aghast and shocked by the way a large segment of the frum mainly askanim population had foolishly run after the Democrats. This will eventually negatively affect the frum Jewish population. When they come after our Yeshivos and Torah way of life what will they say? But we got you grants & funds! It is sounding more and more like the early 20th century Russia. Here come the Communists…..
