Democrats seize both the House and Senate in midterm wave

Democrats won back both chambers of Congress on Tuesday, flipping Republican-held Senate seats in Texas, Kansas, Iowa, Maine, North Carolina, Ohio and South Carolina. They are expected to win over 250 House seats, with some races, including Alaska's Senate contest, still being counted. It is the first midterm since 2006 in which the party out of power took both chambers.
