Senator Bill Weber Thanks Rockland County Following Election Defeat, Reflects on Four Years of Public Service
New York State Senator Bill Weber released a heartfelt statement following his defeat in Tuesday’s election to Joe Rand, thanking Rockland County residents for their support and reflecting on his four years representing the community in Albany.
Weber expressed pride in his campaign and the accomplishments of his office, emphasizing the importance of democracy, respecting the will of voters, and continuing to put the needs of Rockland County residents first.
During his four years in office, Weber said he worked closely with residents, community leaders, first responders, educators, businesses, and local organizations to address challenges, navigate government bureaucracy, support schools and community institutions, strengthen public safety, and ensure Rockland County had a strong voice in Albany.
Weber highlighted the countless behind-the-scenes efforts of his office to assist individuals and families facing difficult circumstances, noting that some of his most meaningful accomplishments involved helping residents resolve personal challenges that never made headlines. He stressed that constituent services, accessibility, and responsiveness were always central to his approach to public service, regardless of political affiliation or background.
The outgoing senator also expressed deep appreciation to his Senate staff for their dedication and tireless work assisting constituents, as well as his family, campaign team, volunteers, and supporters who stood alongside him throughout the election.
Weber confirmed that he personally called Joe Rand on election night to congratulate him on his victory and wish him success in representing the district, emphasizing that the responsibility to serve residents must remain the top priority regardless of election outcomes.
Although his time in the State Senate is coming to an end, Weber made clear that his commitment to Rockland County remains unchanged.
“This community is my home, and I will continue to care deeply about its future and the people who make it such a special place,” Weber stated.
He concluded by thanking Rockland County residents for their trust, friendship, and the honor of representing them over the past four years.
