Bomb Threat on Flight From Israel to Bulgaria, No Explosives Found
Bulgarian authorities investigated a bomb threat received by email after a flight from Israel landed at Sofia Airport.
Counterterrorism units searched the aircraft and found no explosives. The threat is believed to have been a hoax.
Although authorities did not identify the aircraft, El Al Flight LY551 was reportedly the only commercial flight from Israel to Bulgaria that day.
This was reportedly the fourth similar aviation threat in Europe today.
